said she and her husband, , took their 1-year-old daughter, , to urgent care in Arizona on the first night of their family vacation after finding a rash all over the child’s body. In an Instagram post on Monday, , Drummond joked, “First day of vacay starting at urgent care. Is Sofia allergic to Arizona?? Stay tuned,” then followed with a calmer update: “Never a dull moment! Thankfully she is in good spirits & breathing normal!”

Later that day, Drummond said plainly, “She’s okay!!” and explained that Sofia had been reacting to antibiotics she was taking for an ear infection. She said the child received medication and would hopefully be back to normal as soon as possible.

The scare landed hard because it came without warning. Drummond said it was “a jarring thing to wake up to this morning,” adding that Sofia had “never so much as had a slight rash or reaction to anything” and that it “came out of nowhere.” She also said she and Scott prayed over Sofia’s crib for healing and comfort before trying to get some sleep while checking the monitor.

Drummond, who said she is expecting her second child, also described the day as one of those parenting moments that leaves a family far from home scrambling for answers, messages and medicine. She thanked people for prayers and kind words and said messages from others made the situation feel less frightening because many had said similar reactions can be common.

That is consistent with advice from board-certified dermatologist , who said children can develop rashes from dry skin or eczema and that dry skin is one of the biggest triggers for eczema flares. Souyoul recommended gentle care, including a mild, fragrance-free soap such as Dove and a thick moisturizing cream like CeraVe at least twice daily, even when skin looks clear. She said Hydrocortisone 1 percent cream can help with small patches of dryness or irritation, but a rash that is not improving, getting worse or spreading should be checked by a pediatrician or dermatologist.

The Arizona stop ended up being less about a mystery destination reaction than a medication side effect, and Drummond’s final update made the point directly: Sofia was okay. For the family, the question was answered by the end of Monday.
