are reportedly open to sanctioning a summer sale of , just months after paying £40 million to bring him in from . The winger has become a fringe figure under , who has given him only four starts since taking over on January 6.

That limited usage has fuelled the feeling inside the club that a move away is a distinct possibility, with reporting that Chelsea are now prepared to listen. Rosenior has repeatedly leaned on on the left flank instead, even as Garnacho has started 21 of Chelsea’s 51 matches in all competitions and scored eight goals, four of them against lower-league opposition in cup ties. He has managed only one Premier League goal since the deadline-day move, a return that falls well short of the promise that followed him from Old Trafford.

Rosenior has publicly backed the 20-year-old, saying he has “huge ability and potential” and stressing that consistency remains the main test for any young player. He added that Garnacho has shown “really good signs” not only in training but also in meetings, where he appears to be “on a really good track.” The private concern, though, is not whether Garnacho has talent. It is where he fits.

Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League table and seven points behind third-placed Manchester United, a reminder that the club still has ground to make up in the race for the top spots. Garnacho’s situation is also being viewed through the lens of Chelsea’s wider planning, with the club looking to streamline the squad ahead of the 2026-27 season. That makes players who are not nailed down in the starting XI more vulnerable, especially when a preferred option is already established on one side.

The backdrop to all of it is a move that was always going to carry noise. Garnacho joined from United last September, stayed an unused substitute when Chelsea faced his former club in September, and arrived after a difficult final stretch in Manchester that he has since described as a period when he stopped playing as before, found himself on the bench and made mistakes in his own mind. He said he was proud to remain in the Premier League at a club like Chelsea and had no regrets, but the old chapter did not close cleanly.

There is still one practical complication before any summer decision can harden into action: is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, which narrows Chelsea’s options on the flank for now. Even so, the direction of travel is clear. Garnacho has not become indispensable, Rosenior has not fully trusted him, and Chelsea appear willing to move if the right offer or the right fit comes along.
