Mia Alario says she is done with Justin Assad, and she made that clear on the April 22 episode of Southern Hospitality. “I’m done with it. I’m over it,” Alario said, adding that she did not need “all this drama” and had “athlete DMs to answer back.”
The breakup talk lands after a season that already put Assad in the middle of a love triangle with Alario and Republic bartender Jordyn Smith. On the same episode, Alario brushed off the fight around them as “ridiculous” and “so middle school,” making plain that whatever was left between her and Assad was over.
Assad, for his part, said he was disappointed to be back in the friend zone. He said it would have been nice to see where things panned out “before the peanut gallery got its nasty, nutty little hands all over it,” then added, “And at this point, me and Mia are just friends.”
But Assad is already looking elsewhere. His relationship with Charley Manley has been playing out across the season, starting with his claim in Episode 8 that they “fell in love in a hopeless place: Instagram DMs.” He said they grabbed drinks, had what he called “a pretty f--king amazing date,” and later followed that with a sleepover after telling her he had locked himself out of his apartment. “We haven’t separated too much since,” he said.
Their pairing was already public by the time they appeared together at Joe Bradley’s emo-themed 30th birthday party, where Manley told Assad, “I’ve known you for two days.” Assad also signaled the relationship online on April 8, when he commented “My whole heart” on Manley’s Instagram post.
Southern Hospitality season 4, which also features returning cast members Grace Lilly, Molly Moore and Emmy Sharrett, plus newcomers Assad and Bella Starcher, airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock. For Alario, the answer is simple: the Justin Assad chapter is closed. Assad, meanwhile, is moving on with Charley Manley.
