The Los Angeles Rams are showing interest in Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard after Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, a sign they may not be done trying to add help at the position. Jeremy Fowler reported that if Los Angeles takes a receiver outside Day 1, Bernard is a player the team has spent time on.
The Rams enter the draft with needs at linebacker, offensive tackle, quarterback and especially wide receiver, and Bernard fits the kind of productive, versatile player that can draw attention from a team trying to patch several holes at once. Last season at Alabama, Bernard had 64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns, then added 18 carries for 101 yards and two more scores. He did that at 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, and he has not fumbled in four years of college football.
That production gives Bernard a case to be one of the more attractive receivers left on the board once the first round is over. But the Rams may have a timing problem. They hold the No. 61 and No. 93 overall picks on Day 2, and those spots may be too late to get Bernard if other teams move first. A trade-up could be required if Los Angeles wants to make him more than a name on the board.
The possibility fits a broader picture in Los Angeles, where the team is also looking closely at Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson while weighing its options at No. 13 overall. Makai Lemon, Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson have been mentioned as likely receiver options there, which leaves Bernard as a potential Day 2 answer if the Rams decide to wait. The question is not whether he has shown enough to be drafted; it is whether the Rams can reach him before another team does.
