The second round of the 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans begins Friday morning at TPC Louisiana, and Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Fitzpatrick will be back in the hunt after opening with an eight-under 64 in four-ball. The brothers were six shots behind early leaders Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer after Thursday’s first round.
The Zurich Classic is the PGA Tour’s team event, and Friday’s test changes fast: all players move into foursomes, or alternate shot, for Round 2. That is a different challenge from Thursday’s low-scoring four-ball format, where Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry also moved into the mix at six under.
Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Fitzpatrick are teaming up at the event for the second year in a row, after missing the cut last year. Their return gives the weekend a familiar subplot, with the leaderboard still tight enough for one strong alternate-shot round to change the picture quickly.
Coverage starts early for viewers following the zurich classic leaderboard 2026. PGA Tour Live on + begins streaming at 8:45 a.m. ET Friday and will carry featured group and featured hole coverage throughout the day. Golf Channel will air second-round TV coverage from 3-6 p.m. ET.
The opening round showed how quickly the team format can separate contenders from the field, and Friday will be the first real test of who can keep scoring when every shot depends on a partner. For the Fitzpatricks, the next step is simple: turn Thursday’s 64 into a round that keeps them within reach going into the weekend.
