Fans at Cooper Flagg’s Rookie of the Year press conference on Tuesday zeroed in on one familiar face in the crowd: Arianna Roberson, who was sitting alongside his family.
Roberson is a Duke women’s basketball player, and fans quickly identified her as the woman seen with Flagg during a Duke game in February 2026, when he sat next to her, chatted with her and looked over a stat sheet. The sighting fueled fresh dating rumors, even though the relationship between the two has not been officially confirmed.
The attention came on the same day Flagg was being recognized for a rookie season that put him in rare company. He averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks across 70 games in his 2025-26 rookie campaign, becoming the first rookie since Michael Jordan in 1984-85 to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
Roberson has her own basketball résumé. The 6-foot-4 center was ranked the No. 17 recruit in her class by, made the McDonald’s All-American team and was picked for the Nike Hoop Summit after starring at Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas. She missed Duke’s 2024-25 campaign with an ankle injury, then returned this season and was averaging 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Her family background also fits the spotlight. Roberson’s father played basketball at New Mexico State, her mother played volleyball, and she is the youngest of seven siblings, all athletes. Her brother Andre had an NBA career primarily with the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Roberson herself was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball in high school.
For now, the sight of Roberson next to Flagg’s family is doing what public appearances often do in the internet age: turning a brief moment into a bigger story. The pictures may keep driving speculation, but the only thing known for certain is that Flagg’s ascent is already pulling other names into the frame.
