FanDuel Sportsbook has released its latest odds for who may go No. 1 overall in the next NFL Draft, and DJ Lagway is not near the top of the list. The Florida quarterback now has the 14th-best odds to hear his name called first next spring.
That puts him behind nine quarterbacks, including Arch Manning, Oregon’s Dante Moore, Notre Dame’s CJ Carr and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin. Fernando Mendoza already went No. 1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, selected by the Las Vegas Raiders out of Indiana, so the market is now turning to the next wave of speculation.
Lagway’s position is notable because it comes after a college career in which he was never treated as a clear No. 1 overall favorite at Florida. The new odds suggest bettors still see a steep climb for him, even as early draft chatter builds around quarterbacks who have not yet taken a snap in the professional ranks.
Baylor is part of the backdrop here because the school is now where Lagway is getting to play for his father’s alma mater, a detail that may help recast the conversation around him. Even so, the article frames Baylor as a program that is not on the same level as the traditional powers that usually shape the top of the draft board, which makes the gap between perception and opportunity harder to ignore.
