Millwall and Hull City were level after 90 minutes in the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final on 8 May 2026, with the tie finishing 0-0 after five minutes of stoppage time. The result leaves Millwall to host Hull on Monday in a second leg that will decide who goes to Wembley.
The game opened and closed tight, but it was never without moments. Neghli forced one of the cleaner openings in the 69th minute when his shot from distance flashed across goal and wide off the outside of the far post. Hull responded by sending on Hirakawa and Joseph for Millar and Belloumi in the 70th minute, before Millwall changed again at 74 minutes with Bannan and Cundle replacing De Norre and Ballo, while Hull also brought Kieran Dowell on for Gelhardt. Pandur then kept Hull level with a save in the 76th minute from Azeez's low shot from the right side of the penalty area.
The closing stages brought more substitutions and one near-breakthrough. Millwall introduced Alfie Doughty for Zak Sturge in the 82nd minute, and Hull sent on John Lundstram for Slater in the 88th. In between, Leonard turned in a Millwall cross in the 86th minute, only for the referee to rule it out for a foul by Crama on Hughes. After four minutes of added time were announced at 90+1, the match went all the way to 90+5 before the whistle confirmed that neither side had landed the first blow.
That makes Monday's meeting at Millwall's ground feel like the kind of playoff second leg that can turn in one move. The draw leaves everything alive, but it also sharpens the pressure: one place in the Championship playoff final at Wembley is still there for the taking, and there is no room left for a cautious approach when the sides meet again.
