Tax Day freebies 2026 are rolling out across restaurants and retailers, with WRAL compiling a list of deals valid on April 15 and, in some cases, for the rest of the week. The offers run at participating locations, and the list was set to keep growing through April 15 as more promotions were announced.
Some of the biggest draws land squarely on Wednesday. Krispy Kreme is giving customers a second Original Glazed dozen free when they buy any dozen at regular price. Potbelly Sandwich Works is offering reward members a free Original size sandwich or wrap with the purchase of a Big or Original size sandwich or wrap, using the code BOGO. Paris Baguette is giving reward members a free pastry with any beverage purchase, while Great American Cookies is offering a buy-one-get-one-free Cookie Cake slice deal for reward members. Tiff's Treats is selling unlimited cookie dozens for $15 through April 15 with the code TREAT15.
Other chains stretched the tax-season discounts over several days. Checkers offered its Big Buford burger for $3 from April 14 through April 15. Dickey's Barbecue Pit gave customers $10 off an order of $50 or more on April 14 and 15 with the code WRITEOFF. Church's Texas Chicken offered Real Rewards members an 8-piece leg and thigh order for $4.99 on April 15, but only if they signed up before that date. Subway extended a buy-one-get-one-free Footlong sub deal through April 28, while The UPS Store cut shredding services by 25% through April 19 at participating locations. Office Depot and Office Max also joined the list with 5 pounds of free in-store shredding available through May 23 with a coupon posted on its website.
One deal on the list reaches beyond the immediate tax-day rush. QDOBA is asking Rewards members to take a short survey at TaxDayGuacRelief.com by April 15 to get $5 off a full-sized entrée in their rewards wallet for use April 20 through April 26. That makes the promotion less of a same-day giveaway and more of a delayed reward for anyone willing to trade a few minutes for a later meal discount.
WRAL also included a Kona Ice offer tied to its annual Chill Out Day on April 15, 2025, as written in the source. With some offers limited to one day and others lasting well into the following weeks, the tax-day promotion cycle is less a single shopping moment than a rolling race to claim a discount before it disappears.
