Sony unveiled new footage from Spiderman Beyond The Spider Verse at CinemaCon 2026, giving the crowd its clearest look yet at the end of the Spider-Verse trilogy. The scene opens with the comics code logo, then drops Miles Morales into Earth-42, where he realizes there is no Spider-Man there and meets that world’s Miles Morales — the Prowler.
The footage turns fast. The Prowler mocks Miles for not being able to pronounce Morales correctly, and Miles answers that his dad is going to die in two days because of a canon event. He breaks free with his venom powers, repeats Peter B. Parker’s advice, “Don’t watch the mouth. Watch the hands,” and later fights the Prowler while still tied to the punching bag from the end of Across the Spider-Verse. Mahershala Ali’s Aaron then cuts in with, “Let’s do this one last time,” before the trailer shifts into action.
That swing of images matters because the movie has been waiting a long time to show them. Spiderman Beyond The Spider Verse was first slated for March 29, 2024, then received a June 4, 2027 date at CinemaCon 2025 before being pushed back three weeks and then moved up a week to its current release on June 18, 2027. Sony Pictures Animation also released a collection of photos, and the new material showed Gwen still looking for Miles, Peter B. Parker handing Spider-Ham his baby, Mayday, and Spider-Ham answering, “Gladly. But I’m all out of milk.”
The broader footage kept widening the canvas. The Kingpin appeared in a silhouette that echoed Spot’s effects, Spider-Noir returned and Miles later faced Spider-Man 2099. Rio Morales also got a final word, urging her son to be brave. The film, directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, is set to pick up soon after the cliffhanger ending of Across the Spider-Verse, when Miles was stranded in an alternate reality, and it keeps the franchise’s mix of animation styles front and center.
What CinemaCon made plain is that Sony is treating this as a finish line, not a placeholder. The cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya and Karan Soni, and the studio’s wider message was that more projects tied to Spider-Verse characters are already in development. For Miles, the stakes in the footage are still personal. For Sony, the date now is the point: June 18, 2027.
