The first residents in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, were connected to multi-gigabit, symmetrical Internet from Xfinity on April 27, 2026, marking the start of a Comcast expansion that will eventually reach more than 6,000 homes and businesses across Bloomsburg, Hemlock Township and Scott Township. The buildout will roll out to properties on a rolling basis and is expected to be completed in 2027.
Xfinity is a new provider in Bloomsburg, and Comcast is pairing the Internet build with mobile, entertainment and smart home services in one package. The company said the network gives customers multi-gig speeds, ultra-low latency and 99.9% reliable whole-home WiFi, while Xfinity Mobile offers speeds up to 1 Gig at home and on the go. New customers can also get one line free for a full year when they sign up for a qualifying Xfinity Internet plan.
Dave Kovach said the investment in Bloomsburg and surrounding Columbia County communities will give residents, students and local business owners more choice for high-speed Internet options they need to work, learn and thrive. Ricky Frazier, Jr. said the expansion brings fast, reliable Internet and a fully integrated suite of connectivity solutions from Xfinity and Comcast Business, with multi-gig speeds and ultra-low-lag performance built for streaming, gaming and more. He added that when Xfinity Mobile is paired with the service, customers can carry that connection from home to on the go on the nation’s most reliable network at a lower cost.
The Bloomsburg launch now puts the town among 65 million homes and businesses nationwide with access to the network. It also comes as Comcast continues to expand across Northeast and Central Pennsylvania, with recently completed projects in Carbon, Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties and ongoing work in other parts of Columbia County, including Mifflin, North Centre, Orange, South Centre and additional areas of Scott Township.
Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. The larger question is how quickly the new build reaches the streets and storefronts that are still waiting, because the company’s promise in Bloomsburg will be measured not by the launch date but by the pace of the rollout that follows.
