released her new single “Jeep” today, and with it a music video that turns a simple date-night mishap into a glossy, surreal riff on American fantasy. The track arrives ahead of her upcoming album , giving the rollout a fresh jolt before the record’s release.

The video for “Jeep,” directed by , was shot between rural France and a deliberately unglamorous Paris apartment and framed as an “Americana Tumblr fantasy.” Miller-Aichholz said Petras told her about going on a date with an American guy, getting into his truck and saying, “nice Jeep,” a line that sparked the whole idea.

From there, the clip follows Petras and a love interest through a world of clichés that feels pulled from a filtered feed rather than real life. Miller-Aichholz said that moment made her think about how Europeans build ideas about America that are far removed from the country itself, then remake them online into something even more stylized.

That is the engine behind the video’s visual language: over-filtered images, cut-and-paste moodboards and the late-night scrolling that can make a place feel familiar before anyone has actually been there. Miller-Aichholz described it as a hybrid world that is neither American nor European, with internet influence layered on top.

She said the balcony scenes were the point where the fantasy felt most alive, especially when Petras appears in the princess dress with pink dip dye hair. “Probably the balcony scenes where Kim is wearing the August Barron princess dress with the pink dip dye hair,” Miller-Aichholz said.

The release lands today as part of the build-up to Detour, and the clip gives the campaign a clearer identity: a pop star using a small, slightly embarrassing real-life moment to build a visual world that is bigger, stranger and more online than the story that started it. The unanswered question now is not what inspired the video, but how far Petras will push that aesthetic when Detour arrives.
