Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, putting the racing title on track for retail discs and digital release with less than two weeks left before Early Access begins. Players who bought the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade will be able to start playing on May 15, while the full global rollout follows on May 19.
The game is already available for preload on Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Xbox app, with Steam preload coming soon. Players who pre-ordered the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition or Premium Edition can pre-download it, and so can Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. Those planning to buy on disc can preload through the Xbox app on smartphones, a practical step given the game’s size: Xbox Series X users need at least 135GB free, Xbox Series S users need 130GB, and PC players need 160GB plus an SSD.
The release build also comes with the series’ largest track count yet and 9 radio stations, while Xbox Series X|S players will have quality and performance rendering options. On Xbox Series X, Quality mode runs in native 4K resolution at 30fps with increased visual fidelity, while Performance mode targets 4K and dynamically scales to maintain 60fps. Xbox Series S players can play at 1440p and 30fps in Quality mode.
The timing matters because the launch window is now close enough that the key questions are no longer about whether the game will arrive, but how much storage players need and which version they have to own to get in early. With preload already live for some players and the release road map set, the countdown to May 15 and May 19 is now the story.
