The Miami Grand Prix has turned one of the most elaborate sights in Formula One into a new perch for 2026: a 264-foot yacht rising 50 feet above Turn 8 at the Miami International Autodrome. The MSC Yacht Club, the latest high-profile hospitality creation from the Miami GP team, comes with a ticket option priced at $95,000 for 20 people.
The structure is a 32,000-square-foot, five-level addition with several swimming pools, food and drink stands throughout and wide views of the flowing end of the 3.36-mile track’s first sector. It is effectively replacing the fake marina the team built for the inaugural race in 2022, when smaller speedboats were set in boards painted to look like the waters of Miami Beach and South Beach.
MiamI GP managing director Katharina Nowak said the work on the 2026 edition began days after Oscar Piastri won the 2025 Miami GP for McLaren. She said the team was trying to stay authentically Miami while still pushing the racing experience forward. “Everyone was surprised to see when we turned up with real yachts and fake water that got a lot of news and press, which we’re … thankful for,” she said. “But it also turned into the iconic moment for Miami, and we decided to continue to lean into that further this year.”
Nowak said the team kept asking how to raise the bar each year. “The one way we wanted to do that was by elevating the view, and we had only one way to do that, which was to build up,” she said. The move fits an event that has made spectacle part of its identity since joining the F1 calendar in 2022, when it also drew attention for charging $500 for race-day general admission passes.
The pricing has long been part of the conversation around Miami, which has a deal to remain on the calendar until at least 2041. Pierre Gasly said he enjoys what the race brings to the championship, describing the American style as big, different and highly entertaining, and saying the atmosphere around the event makes it stand out the moment people reach the track. The team is not stopping with the yacht club, either: it has already planned one of the largest Paddock Club buildings for 2027, with room for 9,000 people. For Miami, the answer to whether the event would keep escalating is already visible above Turn 8.
