Zakk Moody was killed in a motorcycle crash in Broken Arrow last week after a driver failed to yield near Aspen and Kenosha Street and hit him, according to police. Courtni Moody said her husband was riding his motorcycle home Saturday and never made it back.
She said the family got the call from the hospital later that day, and the news turned what should have been an ordinary return home into a death notice. Broken Arrow Police say the crash remains under investigation.
Courtni Moody said the loss has shattered her family’s future. She remembered her husband as an amazing father to their three children and said he loved to two-step with her. “Literally the love of my life, my soulmate, my person,” she said, adding that it is rare to find a father so inclusive with his children.
She also described the moment the hospital called. “I got a call from the hospital saying that he was at the hospital, and he passed away, and my heart just dropped,” she said. The crash happened near the intersection of Aspen and Kenosha Street, a stretch now tied to a family’s worst day and a police investigation still looking for answers.
At home, Moody said the silence is its own kind of pain. “Going home to our home that’s empty and like, not hearing his sounds. It has been a nightmare,” she said. She said she sees Zakk Moody in their daughter, Penelope, and said the way to honor him is to keep the habits he loved, including church, prayer and the routines that shaped their life together. Her message to other drivers was plain: pay attention on the road, because one careless moment can leave children without a parent and a spouse without a future. For Courtni Moody, the question now is not what was lost — it is how a family of five moves forward after a Saturday ride home ended in a crash police have yet to close.
