said a stylist, hair and makeup team for a recent red carpet event cost her $23,000, and the seven-time gold medalist said she was left trying to figure out whether that was normal. In an April 27 TikTok, the 29-year-old asked, “I just need to know if this is normal,” and added, “I know going outside is expensive as f--k these days, but is it this expensive?”

Biles said she had been “spiraling since then,” and joked that she was “going to sit my ass right here where it’s free.” She did not identify which event prompted the bill, but she last appeared on a red carpet at the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Spain, on April 20.

The cost hit harder because Biles said she has seen prices climb when her name is attached, even if that was not the case here. “It’s kinda wack when they double or triple the price because of your name,” she said, while making clear, “My intention isn’t to bash anyone.”

That openness fits the way Biles has used her public platform before. In November, she told she had been open and honest about her life and said she had undergone three plastic surgeries, including a lower blepharoplasty, a breast augmentation and a reshaping of her ear lobe.

She also said the TikTok was not meant to send anyone after the people involved. “There’s no ill intent,” she said, adding that the point was simply to ask whether the bill made sense. chimed in under the post with a simple reassurance: “Girl, I’ve been wondering the same.”

Biles’ reaction lands because it turns a glossy red carpet ritual into a straight question about what celebrity polish really costs. She said the answer, at least for now, is that she would be “staying inside for the foreseeable future.”
